Byron S. Cooper, MD, FCCP, attended Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO, and received his medical degree in 1973. Then, he served his internship and conducted his internal medicine residency at Bellevue Hospital Center – New York University in New York City, NY (1973-1976). In addition, he completed his fellowship training in pulmonary disease medicine at Barnes-Jewish Hospital – Washington University in St. Louis, MO (1976-1978). Dr. Copper received board certification in internal medicine and pulmonary disease medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine. He remains an active member of the American Medical Association (AMA), the American Society of Internal Medicine (ASIM), American Thoracic Society (ATS), the District of Columbia Thoracic Society, and the Medical Society of the District of Columbia. Moreover, he attained fellowship of the American College of Chest Physicians (FCCP).
